well Well and Bucket - Visitors can pull a bucket of water from the well on the Burrows House back porch when the house is open. There are also a wash pan, a wringer, a "washing machine," a rub board and laundry on the line if you want to have the whole "wash day" experience!
Push Plowing - There is a push plow leaning against the split rail fence by the square log house. Plow "Mama's Vegetable Garden" but keep the rows straight or you will get a "whuppin." push plow photo
school bell photo Bell Ringing - There are two bells on the property: one is the large school bell by the Millard-Lee House and the other is the church bell. Bells were time keepers in the old days to signal when something was about to begin but often served as the 911 system in an emergency.
Change Making - In the log office there is a change-making-money-sorting machine. See if you can make correct change using only one hand!
quill writing Quill Pen Writing - The schoolhouse has ink, quill pens and paper where you can try your skills at penmanship. Learn the rules of deportment in early day schools. quill pen photo
